Dr. Attwood teaches courses in educational psychology, classroom management, assessment and evaluation, and humanities/social studies methods. Dr. Attwood has experience as a teacher, teacher leader (social studies department chair, grades 6-12), and teacher educator. He has previously taught in Missouri and Washington. Previously at the college level in Washington, he taught history courses and a course for preservice teachers on integrating the fine arts into K-8 curriculum. K-12 teaching interests include social studies, humanities (integrated language arts and social studies), and arts integration. Dr. Attwood also has experience as a K-12 scholastic chess coach and high school Model United Nations sponsor/coach.

As an educational researcher, Dr. Attwood specializes in survey and case study methodologies using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods techniques.

Dr. Attwood’s K-12 licensure to teach has included: Washington (5-12 Social Studies, 5-12 English Language Arts, K-12 Visual Arts); Missouri (9-12 & 5-9 Social Science, 9-12 English, 5-9 Language Arts, K-12 Art, B-3 Early Childhood Education); and Tennessee (6-12 History).

In addition to earning degrees from Washington State University and Eastern Washington University, he completed 70 credits of coursework at Gonzaga University. Internships included work in the decorative arts at a museum, at a public library special collection, and related work at a state digital archive.
