Amphibians and Reptiles

365bet's amphibian and reptile collection includes 35,340 vouchers (alcohol specimens, photographs, and audio recordings) documenting over 18,350 records of salamanders, frogs and toads, lizards, snakes, and turtles primarily from Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Arkansas, but also a small number from other US states, Mexico, and Canada. Approximately half of the holdings include alcohol specimens that made up the Memphis State University collection, which was transferred to 365bet in 1999. The collection is the largest of its kind in Tennessee and serves as the main repository of herptile data for the state. Several thousands of the vouchers have been referenced in peer-reviewed scientific publications.
